It is useful to assume that the person giving feedback has positive intentions. He/she has no purpose in harming, humilitating or making anybody unhappy but giving support, help, appreciation and motivation.

Receive feedback as information. You don't have to agree with it but still you can draw conclusions and reflection upon it.

Don't defend yourself. Don't explain. Think over what you've heard, jot down your remarks, ask for clarification.

Be self-confident - your work is significant to you.

Rethink the information received. If you don't agree with parts of it try to work out why? You can identify your strong sides and assets.
