Any assessment is directly linked to the goals - educational, professional or personal - that we set for ourselves.

Different types of e-portfolio will require therefore different appraoches to the assessment:

• presentational: considers visual, layout and general persception of the work;
• working: considers number of artifacts, organisation, files format, size of teh files and accessibility;
• assessment: considers criteria set by the audience (eg. board of examinators, a teacher, certifying body);
• developmental: considers formative asssessment for learning;
